What Resources Matter Most in Last Z?

Food, wood, and electricity are daily fuel. Steel is a separate late-game bottleneck. Diamonds are reserve currency, so spend them only when the event or shop value justifies it.

Best Gathering Strategy for Fast Resources

Optimize gathering before production. A full overnight march on good nodes usually beats hours of passive building output, especially when gathering heroes and alliance territory bonuses are active.

Overnight Gathering

The most efficient way to get resources:

1. Before sleeping, send ALL marches to gather
2. Choose high-level nodes (more resources)
3. Use heroes with gathering speed bonuses
4. Fill marches completely — don't send half-empty
5. Collect in the morning

Gathering Heroes

These heroes have gathering speed bonuses (keep at 4-star for global effect):

• Giselle — Wood gathering speed
• Athena — General gathering bonus
• Blue heroes — Various gathering passives

Tip: You don't need to deploy gathering heroes — their 4th skill global effect works automatically.

Node Selection

• Higher level nodes = more resources per hour
• Closer nodes = less travel time
• Alliance territory = gathering speed bonus
• Avoid contested areas = risk of attack

Best Daily Resource Sources

Treat resources as a routine, not a jackpot. Gathering covers baseline needs; tasks, bounties, trucks, events, and alliance activity fill the gaps. For the daily loop, use the Daily Checklist and Events Schedule.

Which resource boxes should you save?

Read the item's description rather than deciding by its color:

• Fixed resource packs: the amount is fixed. Open only what you need for the next upgrade, research, or troop task.
• HQ-level resource boxes: if the description says rewards depend on your current HQ level, opening after an HQ upgrade can give more resources. Save unused boxes, but use enough to clear a shortage that is blocking worthwhile progress.
• Random reward chests: check their reward list and probabilities. Opening the same number together or separately does not improve the odds per chest.

There is no single HQ level at which every box should be opened. Match the item to your current shortage and keep unused resource packs unopened until you need them.

Diamonds from Random Reward Chests

Some random reward chests can contain Diamonds. Opening the same number in one batch or across several days gives the same odds per chest. Rare drops are a bonus, not a dependable Diamond income plan.

Chest Opening Strategy

• Save for a purpose — keep unopened rewards as a reserve when you do not need them yet.
• Choose a convenient batch size — opening more chests at once does not make each chest luckier.
• Bounty chests: most results are resource boxes; diamond drops are the exception
• Realistic expectations: 10k diamonds from 1,000+ chests is lucky, not normal

Real Example (from 10k+ chest opening)

• ~20k diamonds total (including 10k and 5k jackpots)
• ~40 universal orange hero fragments
• 6k+ badges
• 44 level 1 component boxes
• Days worth of speed ups (construction, training, research)

Note: this was one large opening with rare jackpots. Saving for weeks does not improve the odds per chest, and opening the same number across several days does not reduce them.

How to Get Steel Fast

1. Orange Bounty Missions

• Prioritize orange bounties once steel is active on your server
• Use refreshes carefully when you need steel for HQ31-35
• Confirm the reward preview before spending refresh items

2. Steel Mine and Steel Nodes

• Gather from steel nodes once they appear at higher levels
• Use Steel Mine output as steady background income

3. Shops, Furylord, Events, and Tasks

• Alliance Duel rewards
• Special events occasionally give Steel
• Daily/weekly task rewards

Critical tip: check the live reward screen before counting any event as a steel source. Tyrant is still useful for alliance rewards and Power Cores, but do not plan steel around it unless the game shows steel.

How to Get Diamonds

Diamonds are reserve currency, not just another resource. Saved chests can create big spikes, but regular diamond income still comes from tasks, achievements, events, arena, and codes.

Diamond Jackpots from Chests

Tip: keep bounty chests as a reserve when you do not need their rewards yet. A reported 20k-Diamond opening included 10k and 5k jackpots; it is an example of rare drops, not a reason to expect that return from saving chests.

How to Spend Diamonds Wisely

• Do: keep a reserve for Lucky Discounter, Gacha Go, and other high-value event windows
• Do: compare VIP shop and Alliance Shop items when the account needs shields, teleports, speedups, wrenches, badges, or other bottleneck materials
• Do not: speed up random timers just because diamonds are available
• Do not: buy random chests when the same chest type can be earned through routine play

How to Protect Resources from Raids

Use Warehouse protection as a safety layer, not as a reason to hoard. The practical rule is simple: spend exposed resources before logging off, keep your stash under the Warehouse protection limit when possible, and use a shield when you cannot reduce the risk.

Warehouse Upgrades

Your Warehouse protects a portion of resources from raids. Upgrade it when you are repeatedly carrying resources above the protected limit, when an HQ or event requirement forces it, or when your account needs more offline safety.

• Check the protected limit before long offline windows
• Spend resources above the limit on upgrades, research, or training before logging off
• Do not over-prioritize Warehouse if gathering, HQ prerequisites, combat buildings, or shield planning are more urgent
• Use shields when your exposed resources are high and you cannot defend or spend them cleanly

Protection Strategies

• Spend before logging off — Start long upgrades/research
• Use shields — When you have large amounts saved
• Join NAP alliance — Non-Aggression Pact = less raids
• Stay in alliance territory — Harder for enemies to reach
• Don't hoard — Spend resources as you get them

When to Use Farm Accounts

If you expect to need a farm account, create it on your main server before Season 2 starts. Invest in its gathering capacity when your main repeatedly runs short of food, wood, or electricity despite full gathering marches and daily tasks. For setup, use the Farm Account Guide.

What is a Farm Account?

• Secondary account focused mostly on gathering and resource support
• Supplies your main account with resources by letting your main attack and loot the farm; there is no direct resource-transfer feature.
• Useful for F2P late-game shortages, but not mandatory for every player

How to Set Up

1. Create a new account on your main server before Season 2 starts
2. Coordinate the farm's alliance placement with your alliance leadership.
3. Focus on gathering buildings and march capacity

Tips for Farm Accounts

• Keep HQ only as high as needed for the farm's gathering and resource role.
• Prioritize gathering research and march capacity
• Start with one farm before adding more account upkeep
• Avoid combat investment unless it directly protects the farm's resource role

Should You Build Resource Buildings?

Do not spend builder time on production buildings unless an HQ requirement forces it. Gathering creates the real resource flow; production buildings usually cost more attention than they return.

Why Resource Buildings Are Bad

• Terrible output — produce very little per hour
• Gathering is 10-50x better — one gathering trip = days of production
• Waste builder time — builders should focus on HQ prerequisites
• Waste resources — upgrading them costs more than they produce

What Buildings to Skip

• Farmhouse (food production)
• Residence (wood production)
• Wind Turbine (electricity production)
• Smelting Plant (steel production)

Exception: Only build these if required for HQ upgrade prerequisites. Keep them at minimum required level.
